NEW VERTEC™ SYSTEMS ABOUND AT MAJOR SOUND COMPANIES IN THE WEST

LONDON - SEPTEMBER 9, 2001 - Over the past few months, five of the western United States' major sound companies have purchased VERTEC(tm) Line Array Systems from JBL Professional for their tour, concert, and high level live sound applications. New VERTEC owners Audio Analysts, Flag Systems, Meeting Services, Inc., Rat Sound, and Schubert Systems Group have joined ATK AudioTek, the first VERTEC purchaser.

Burbank based ATK AudioTek has used their 48 box VERTEC system for a number of local and national events. They recently provided sound for the MTV Movie Awards at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom. "MTV really loved the sound and sight lines with the VerTec System - so much so that we'll be using VerTec for the upcoming MTV Music Awards in September," explained ATK's Scott Harmala.

Schubert Systems Group of North Hollywood put their first VerTec system on the road with Sugar Ray on their 2001 US summer tour. The system was used through August, then redeployed for the prestigious CEDIA Awards in Indianapolis in September fpr a performance by Bonnie Raitt. "We received the VerTec Speakers on June 20th and they were in use on the Sugar Ray tour eight days later. Everyone was very pleased with the system," stated Dirk Schubert, the owner of the company.

Flag Systems has employed a large VERTEC system at the Verizon Amphitheatre in Irvine, California for several all-day multiple act shows sponsored by local radio stations. The long throw characteristics of VerTec provide quality sound throughout the entire huge outdoor arena without the use of the delay speakers several hundred feet from the stage. Their VERTEC rig has also been used at the Sacramento Jazz Festival and for shows by Gladys Knight, Los Lobos, David Koz and Spyro Gyro. "Our customers have been very complimentary about the audio with VERTEC. In fact the head engineer for Spyro Gyro thanked me not once, but twice for the great sound," according to Flag Systems owner Dave Forney.

Audio Analysts provided Styx, Bad Company, Billy Squire and Joe Stark with AVERTEC system for their summer 2001 tour. In addition to the indoor and outdoor stages, VerTec was used at a daylong Las Vegas outdoor festival that also featured Journey, Night Ranger and Molly Hatchett. The Audio Analyst VERTEC System is also the choice of the California Mid State Fair in Paso Robles with acts such as Reba McEntire, Destiny's Child, Alan Jackson, David Koz, John Mellencamp and Ted Nugent and at the Colorado State Fair, featuring Bob Dylan, 98 Degrees, Brooks & Dunn, Randy Travis and many other rock and country artists.

Meeting Services, Inc. of San Diego uses their VERTEC rig for a wide range of events, including concerts and corporate events. Two of their early VERTEC jobs provided concert audio for Poi Dog Pondering at the Special Events Pavilion at the San Diego Convention Center and Lawson Software's annual CUE 2001 meeting and conference at the Anaheim Convention Center. "The arena was set for a crowd of 5200, and everyone was able to hear perfectly, courtesy of our new VERTEC Arrays," stated Ken Freeman. Meeting Services, Inc. website is www.msiprod.com.

Known for their work with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam and Beck, Oxnard-based Rat Sound has just added a VERTEC system to their inventory of quality sound systems. "It seems there is an advantage in being a relatively small, adaptable company that is able to offer new and innovate systems, like VERTEC," said company owner Dave Rat. "Rather than pushing clients into a specific system type, we can ask 'What type of system would you prefer?' and assist them in deciding upon the optimum system for the music type and venues being played."
