JBL PROFESSIONAL APPOINTS RAUL GONZALEZ AS PRODUCT MANAGER FOR TOUR SOUND MARKET

LONDON & LOS ANGELES, SEPTEMBER 10, 2000  -   Rededicating JBL Professional to the highest standards of customer service and support, company President Michael MacDonald appointed Raul Gonzalez to the position of  Product Manager for the Tour Sound Market. In his new position Gonzalez, who has accumulated a wide range of experience within JBL Professional while working directly with customers and distributors as Intercontinental Market Development Engineer, will be responsible for providing support services directly to JBL Professional’s pro-level rental system and performance audio customers worldwide and will work closely with the JBL R&D Team on the specification and completion of new tour sound system products.

“JBL Professional’s unwavering goal is to provide our customers around the world with the best sounding and most useful professional sound systems on the market,” noted MacDonald. “With tour-experienced engineers like Gonzalez, coming from a background in live event production but also equipped with the product engineering skills required for helping create next-generation products, we come closer to achieving this goal. As we focus more intently on the system needs of this key market segment, customers and potential customers should be aware that we are assembling a world-class team of field-proven professionals ready, willing and able to take input from the marketplace as we expand JBL’s product offerings in this area.”

As a soundmixer and live-event system engineer, Gonzalez has toured Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and North America with artists such as Julio Iglesias, MENUDO “El Re-Encuentro”, JAM On The Groove, Jesus Christ Superstar and the Purdue Jazz Band. He was also monitor engineer and production manager for Cheap Trick on a recent U.S. tour.

Gonzalez holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Arts in Theatre     Sound Engineering from Purdue University. He has previously worked on product development teams for AT&T Bell Laboratories and gained a broad range of Pro Audio product evaluation experience while working with noted design consulting firms Coffeen, Fricke & Associates, the Talaske Group/Audio Systems Group and Concert Sound Consultants. He has served as a local stage sound technician for tours handled by leading concert firms like Audio Analysts, Clair Brothers, Electrotec, Showco and Sound Image. In his new position, Gonzalez reports directly to JBL Professional Director of Tour Sound Marketing, David Scheirman.
